Dodgers To Use Six-Man Rotation When Clayton Kershaw Returns
Clayton Kershaw (back) returns from the injured list in order to keep guys stretched out down the stretch. Kershaw has been sidelined since early August with lower-back pain, but he could return as early as the end of next week after throwing a 70-pitch simulated game on Saturday. The Dodgers most definitely want the 34-year-old to be healthy for a lengthy playoff run, so they won't rush him back too soon, especially since he's had back problems in the past. When he returns, he'll come back to a 7-3 record, 2.64 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 88 strikeouts and only 15 walks in 85 1/3 innings pitched over 15 starts.
