Jesse Winker Suspended Seven Games
Jesse Winker received a seven-game suspension on Monday for his role in a bench-clearing brawl on Sunday. Winker was hit on the hip by an Andrew Wantz pitch after Wantz had thrown a ball near the head of star rookie Julio Rodriguez earlier in the game. The incensed Winker then made his way toward the Angels' bench, sparking both benches and bullpens to clear. The Seattle outfielder was hit with a full-week suspension by MLB, although he has appealed it and is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Winker is hitting .230 with six homers, 24 runs, and 30 RBI across 72 games played in 2022.
