3 Impact Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Stash - Jonah Tong, Jac Caglianone, Robby Snelling

Jonah Tong - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Rankings, MLB Prospects

Three top fantasy baseball prospects - Jonah Tong, Jac Caglianone, Robby Snelling - that can make big impacts. These MLB prospects are waiver wire pickups or stashes.

Throughout the first half of the season, fantasy managers have seen several top prospects earn the call to the big leagues and make a massive impact in terms of fantasy production. Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Chandler Simpson has shown immense upside on the basepaths, while Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz has demonstrated high power.

In this piece, we will look at a top-hitting prospect who is nearing a return to the big leagues and two top pitching prospects who have flashed immense potential at the Triple-A level.

Should those players be left on the waiver wire, or should fantasy managers add them before their breakout? Let's dive in!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Jonah Tong, SP, New York Mets

Current Level: MLB
Availability: 15% rostered
2025 MiLB Stats: 113 2/3 IP, 1.43 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 179 SO, 47 BB

After terrorizing Double-A hitters for three months, Jonah Tong has carried his domination up to the Triple-A level. In his first two Triple-A starts, Tong has yet to allow a run in 11.2 innings with 17 strikeouts to only three walks.

For the season, Tong is now down to a pristine 1.43 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 22 starts with an elite 40.5% strikeout rate. Only Trey Yesavage has a higher strikeout rate for pitching prospects with at least 80 innings pitched this season.

In his last Triple-A outing on Saturday (shown above), Tong racked up a whopping 21 whiffs, with 14 coming on his mid-90s 4-seamer. Tong's best secondary offering is his upper-70s hammer curveball, but he didn't even use the curveball much in his last outing, opting to go with his changeup and slider more, both of which have improved this season.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Mets officially announced that they will be promoting Tong to join the MLB roster ahead of their weekend series. Accoridng ot reports, Tong will make his MLB debut on Friday against the Miami Marlins. Given his immense sturieuot upside, fantasy managers should look to add Tong in all formats ahead of his MLB debut.

Jac Caglianone, 1B/OF, Kansas City Royals

Current Level: MLB
Availability: 5% rostered
2025 MLB Stats: 41 G, .147/.205/.280, 5 2B, 5 HR, 1 SB, 34 SO, 8 BB

Similar to my Kristian Campbell inclusion in this article, I figured it would be beneficial to start including Jac Caglianone, as he's only 20 at-bats past the prospect eligibility threshold. While Caglianone hit just .147 in his time with Kansas City before landing on the IL, don't let that make you forget that the upside with Cags is still substantial, thanks to his immense power upside.

Caglianone showed some of the power with Kansas City, posting a 12.1% barrel rate and 42.2% hard-hit rate with an elite 77.1 mph bat speed.

In 11 games since starting his rehab stint with Triple-A Omaha, Caglianone has slashed .388/.444/.714 in 54 plate appearances with four doubles, four home runs, and only eight strikeouts. Caglianone has reached base in 10 of these 11 games and has multiple hits in six of these 11 games. I don't think we've seen the last of Caglianone with the Royals this season.

Before moving up to Kansas City, Caglianone flashed immense upside in the minor leagues, posting a .317/.382/.588 line with an eye-catching 970 OPS. He is a must-stash in all formats as he could be a league-winner down the stretch.

Robby Snelling, SP, Miami Marlins

Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2025 AAA Stats: 39 2/3 IP, 1.13 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 51 SO, 10 BB

After typically sitting much lower on this list over the past few weeks, due to recent promotions, the Miami southpaw has now climbed to the No. 2 spot. Over the last two months, Snelling has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the minor leagues.

Since June 18 (39 2/3 innings), the left-hander has posted an eye-catching 1.59 ERA with a 0.91 WHIP. During this stretch at Triple-A, the southpaw has struck out 45 hitters and allowed only seven walks and four long balls. In fact, these 39 2/3 innings were Snelling's first innings at Triple-A this season, as he began the campaign with Double-A.

Before this dominant run, Snelling posted a 3.61 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP across 72 1/3 innings at Double-A Pensacola. He flashed high strikeout upside there as well, racking up 85 while walking only 22 batters.

Given his sheer dominance since the start of July, the 21-year-old has entered high-priority stash territory.

While Ryan Gusto was called on to replace the recently waived Cal Quantrill, given Snelling's proven production at Triple-A, expect the Marlins to turn to their budding ace in the near future.

Fantasy managers looking to secure a potential high-upside strikeout pitcher should look to stash Snelling in all 12-team formats ahead of his potential MLB debut.
