TourPicks ranks his top-10 players to watch for at the 2025 Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course. Insights on the top-10 golfers for the week and reasons why they are primed and ready to win.
The PGA TOUR continues it's "South of the border" part of the schedule as they make their way to the small island of Bermuda and Port Royal Golf Course for the 2025 Bermuda Championship. A less-than-stellar, but hungry, field of players is set to tackle one of the shortest courses of the year. Play well in the wind, and anyone can win this tournament.
As always, my primary goal with this article is to provide you with a starting point for your research and preparation for the upcoming week. I have carefully evaluated the field-to-project proper course fits and examined closely how players' incoming form has been in the categories that matter most here. Without further ado, here are my top 10 Power Rankings for the 2025 Bermuda Championship.

No. 10 - Jackson Suber
- Since turning pro in 2022, Suber is in the midst of one of his best professional runs of form, notching Top-15 finishes in his last 2 tournaments back to back.
- Improved ball striking metrics pair well with a hot putter, particularly on this kind of setup at Port Royal which rewards the players who are confident on the greens.
- Suber ranks 2nd best in the field in Strokes Gained: Total over the last 36 rounds played.
No. 9 - Matt Kuchar
- The journeyman and multiple-time winner arrives at one of the few short courses left where he can still compete for victory.
- Improved iron play for Kuchar over the last 36 rounds has me optimistic. He ranks 13th best in the field over that span.
- Kuchar remains one of the top putters on the PGA TOUR and comes into this week hot. He is +13.5 strokes gained putting in his last two tournaments played.
No. 8 - Eric Cole
- The putter is back to cooperating for Eric Cole, which often fuels his best performances and confidence.
- T10 finish last week in Mexico was positive and comes on the heels of a T9 earlier this Fall at the Sanderson Farms.
- This is an ideal setup for Cole, who is not the longest player on Tour, but tends to thrive with a wedge in his hands and the opportunity to hoop putts on the greens.
No. 7 - Vince Whaley
- Three consecutive Top 8 finishes in his last three appearances at the Bermuda Championship gives Whaley some of the best course history of any player in the field.
- Savvy hands around the greens and a Top 15 putter who is making his fair share of birdies over the last three months.
- Whaley has thirty-two consecutive rounds on the PGA Tour of par or better, best in the field this week.
No. 6. Kevin Yu
- Yu ranks #1 in the field in Birdie-or-Better percentage over the last 36 rounds played.
- He has played every tournament during the Fall swing thus far, so rust won't be an issue. Yu has two Top-15s during that span.
- Tends to dominate in easy scoring conditions. If the wind lays down, he can attack pins without fear.
No. 5 - Patrick Rodgers
- Despite being a longer-hitter, Rodgers often plays his best golf on shorter courses where can club down and find the fairway.
- Expect him to dominate the three par 5's at Port Royal. Rodgers ranks 3rd best in the field in Par 5 scoring average over the last three months.
- Plenty of positive history at Port Royal, where he has come close to winning twice. T9 in 2024, T3 in 2022, and 4th in 2021.
No. 4 - Nico Echavarria
- Echavarria also has postive course history at Port Royal over the last three years, and has shown the ability to close a tournament with victory in his career.
- T14 last week at the WWT Championship and he finished 9th at the Baycurrent Classic before that. Echavarria is doing his thing again.
- 5th best the field in SG: Total over the last 20 rounds. The form is trending back in the right direction for Nico.
No. 3 - Pierceson Coody
- The most dominant player OTT in the field this week. Coody ranks 1st in SG: OTT. It's a course that could mitigate his strength, but I think his odds are discounted accordingly for his win equity.
- Ranks Top 5 in Ballstriking and SG: Total over the last 30 rounds. Coody is fresh up from the Korn Ferry Tour and on a mission.
- T3 at the Black Desert Classic a few weeks ago. Coody has been the best player in the field at bogey avoidance over the last three months, a suitable asset in the high winds of Bermuda.
No. 2 - Thorbjorn Oleson
- Any course, any tour, any time. Oleson has been playing phenomenal golf and deserves to be one of the top contenders to win.
- Sharp iron player has been consistent and pairs well with a volatile putter that can spike often.
- I believe Oleson is the most talented player in the field, and holds tremendous win equity given his worldwide experience.
No. 1 - Rico Hoey
- Well, here we are. A world where Rico Hoey has ascended to the top of my power rankings in a PGA Tour tournament. Let's ride.
- We touched on his ballstriking prowess for weeks, but in an event where it could be at a premium in 30 mph winds, Hoey should be locked in.
- Find the fairway and wedge it close. It all comes down to the putter, which has modestly improved since pivoting to the broomstick style.
