Top NFL Draft Targets

The loss of Earl Mitchell and Antonio Smith, along with the poor record, is going to give the Texans a crack at either a young QB or a top defensive line prospect. Matt Schaub’s time in Houston is just about over as Case Keenum has been solid enough as a starter. Despite a 6 loses to start his NFL career Keenum has thrown 8 TDs to 3 INTs. Keenum, an undrafted rookie from Houston, has his name in the mix as a potential starter in Houston in 2014.  The Texans also have a less than stellar talent in T.J. Yates; a 5th round pick in 2011.  The Texans may look at the defensive side of the ball as they are likely to secure a top 5 pick, and could have a crack at Anthony Barr (OLB, UCLA) or Louis Nix (DT, Notre Dame).  The Texans could also potentially find a trade partner like the Browns or Rams who each hold multiple 1st round picks and could be targeting a top QB prospect (assuming the Rams are done with Sam Bradford).
