10 Worst QB Performances From Week 12, Including Tommy DeVito and C.J. Stroud

C.J. Stroud - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Quincy Milton ranks the 10 worst quarterback performances for Week 12 of the 2024 season. Tommy DeVito, C.J. Stroud, and others make the list of 10 underperformers.

In a week where six teams were on a bye, there was not a lot of poor quarterback play to pick from. Several players were deserving of their place on this list. However, with so many teams off this week, a few players who had solid games still found themselves among the bottom 10 performers.

Notably, Tommy Devito is certainly a headline this week. The New York Giants moved away from Daniel Jones to avoid paying his injury guarantee should he get hurt. DeVito stepped in this week and did not deliver for the Giants.

With a few recurring players back on this list this week, it is time to break down where everyone stands heading into Week 13.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

10. Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks

Geno Smith was not fully at his best in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals. However, he did what was necessary to get the Seahawks back in first place on Sunday. Smith's completion percentage was an excellent 70.9% in Week 12, but he threw an interception that had the potential to cost the Seahawks the game in the fourth quarter.

Smith will look to continue his strong season as the Seahawks find themselves in control of their destiny.

9. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Jared Goff was not bad in Week 12. However, the Lions rode their running game to victory over the Colts. Goff did not throw any touchdowns but he did manage to throw for 269 yards.

Goff was off on a few throws that he usually makes. Still, the Lions only care about wins rather than stats. Frankly, Goff only makes this list this week due to the number of teams on bye.

8. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels has become a recurring player on this list, which has been very puzzling for NFL fans. Daniels scorched the league through his first couple months of action, but he has faltered of late as defenses have figured out how to defend him.

This is not all on Daniels, as the play-calling has done him no favors. Daniels almost salvaged his day against the Dallas Cowboys with late theatrics. Still, his first three quarters were very subpar. Hopefully, Daniels will start to figure things out in Week 13 against Tennessee.

7. Gardner Minshew II, Las Vegas Raiders

Minshew was not at his worst in Week 12; however, he was not close to crossing the threshold necessary to stay off this list. He did throw for 230 yards and a touchdown, but Minshew does not seem to be able to play a game without throwing an interception.

The Raiders were competitive in this game and Minshew is simply not the answer. Unfortunately, Minshew could not finish the game, as it was reported that he broke his collarbone during Week 12's matchup and will miss the remainder of this season. Raiders fans will just need to ride this season out and hope for a top quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.

6. Brandon Allen, San Francisco 49ers

Brandon Allen had big shoes to fill in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers. With Brock Purdy nursing a shoulder injury, Allen was forced to try and keep the 49ers offense afloat.

Allen was not bad in this game, but he had trouble consistently getting the 49ers to move the ball. The big plays were sorely lacking for an offense that is typically defined by them. Let’s just say that the 49ers should hope Purdy is back next week.

5. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray was subpar against a beatable Seahawks defense in Week 12. The "12th man" seemed to get to Murray, as he made several poor mistakes. Additionally, the Seahawks defensive line imposed its will on Murray and the Cardinals offensive line all day.

Murray’s inconsistencies this season were on full display in Week 12. The Cardinals had a golden opportunity to take a commanding lead in the NFC West. Instead, they fell out of first.

4. Drake Maye, New England Patriots

The rookie struggles continue for Drake Maye. However, he continues to look good even when he does not play his best game. Maye turned the ball over twice on Sunday as the Patriots were routed by the Dolphins.

Maye had some nice moments on Sunday. He threw for 222 yards and a touchdown in addition to the turnovers. He should continue to flash his evident talent.

3. C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans

C.J. Stroud is definitely in the midst of a sophomore slump. His two interceptions against the Titans on Sunday pushed his season total to nine. This is not the same player who took the league by storm in 2023.

Stroud’s decision-making has simply been baffling this season. His two interceptions on Sunday were very uncharacteristic. Stroud draws an easy matchup against the Jaguars next week, so hopefully he gets back on track.

2. Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

Anthony Richardson is back on this list after seemingly figuring out some things in Week 11. Unfortunately, it seemed like the Colts took the training wheels off Richardson again and asked him to do too much.

The Colts were within striking distance of this game for most of it. However, they continue to not play to Richardson’s strengths and keep asking him to make difficult throws. As such, his completion percentage suffered in Week 12.

1. Tommy DeVito, New York Giants

Does this come as any surprise? Tommy DeVito stepped in for Daniel Jones as the New York Giants went through a week of turmoil with the benching and release of Jones. DeVito could have been worse, and he did not commit any turnovers, but he was no better than Jones would have been.

DeVito seems poised to finish out the season as the starting quarterback for the Giants. While he may not be at the bottom of the barrel, he is likely to recur on this list.
