Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants
New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart (hamstring) was listed as a limited practice participant on the team's Monday injury report. The Giants play on Thursday night in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles, so Monday's injury report is an estimation of practice status.
Dart has thrown for 313 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions across his first two starts in the NFL over the last two weeks. If he were unable to suit up in Week 6, veteran quarterback Russell Wilson would likely take over under center for the Giants.
Wilson started New York's first three games of the season, throwing for 786 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. Either quarterback is tough for fantasy managers to trust in a short week against a difficult opponent in the Eagles.
Mason Taylor, TE, New York Jets
New York Jets tight end Mason Taylor has quickly become a main part of the team's passing game, and the rookie tight end is worth a look in almost all fantasy formats due to the volume he has been getting.
The second-round pick out of LSU has been the team's top pass-catching tight end all season, but he had just two catches on three targets in his first two games. Since then, though, he has 18 catches on 25 targets over three weeks for a total of 150 yards. Taylor set career-highs with nine catches on 12 targets for 67 yards against the Cowboys in Week 5, pacing the team in catches and targets as the team tried to scramble back against Dallas.
The 0-5 Jets have had to play from behind a lot this year, and they'll take on the Broncos in the morning game from London in Week 6. Taylor can definitely be a strong TE1 option for as long as he keeps getting so much volume.
Matthew Golden, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden had the most productive game of his young career in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys, recording five catches for 58 yards on six targets. Through four games, Golden has 11 catches for 126 yards on 14 targets.
The 22-year-old has seen his usage and snap count go up since the Packers lost wideout Jayden Reed (collarbone, foot) to injury in Week 2. However, Green Bay could be getting Christian Watson (knee) back from a knee injury that sidelined him for the first four weeks of the season shortly after the team's Week 5 bye.
Golden has plenty of upside, but he will likely remain difficult for fantasy managers to trust given Green Bay's crowded wide receiver room. Golden's next chance to make an impact will be in Week 6 when the Packers take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
Kaleb Johnson, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Johnson had just six carries for 22 yards, and has recorded just eight carries for 21 yards on the season. Pittsburgh has a bye in Week 5, and Warren may be ready to return in Week 6 for the Steelers' matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
Even if Warren remains out, there's little reason to think Johnson would be set to jump Gainwell on the running back depth chart in Pittsburgh. The 22-year-old rookie maintains fantasy appeal in dynasty leagues, but he's tough to roster with any confidence in redraft formats.
