Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Garrett Wilson, WR, Jets
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson and the rest of the New York Jets' offense will look to get back on track in Week 3 when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road. New York's offensive attack had a rough outing in last weekend's 30-10 loss to the Bills. Quarterback Justin Fields (concussion) completed just 3-of-11 attempts for a total of 27 yards before exiting the contest with a concussion.
With Fields unable to clear protocol ahead of Week 3, Tyrod Taylor will step in to operate the Jets' offense. Taylor appeared on only 18 snaps in Week 2, so not much can be drawn from his play. Still, he looked decent (7-of-11, 56 yards, one TD) and might be forced to sling it with Tampa Bay's defense ranking as a top-five unit against the rush through two weeks (76.5 YPG).
Wilson is the no-brainer No. 1 option here and should again be fed a steady diet of looks. He ranks as RotoBaller's PPR WR10 for his matchup with the Buccaneers.
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (groin) is expected to play in Week 3 against the New York Jets. Egbuka battled a groin injury late in Week 2's thrilling win over the Houston Texans, missing Wednesday and Thursday practices before returning on Friday.
The Jets have struggled defensively in 2025, allowing 30+ points to both the Steelers and Bills, and the Buccaneers' potent offense is aiming for similar production. Egbuka remains a WR2 option for Week 3, looking to score for a third consecutive game.
Ladd McConkey, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey caught all five of his targets for 48 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders in the team's 20-9 win on Monday night. He has been reliable through two weeks, but hasn't received a single red-zone target, which limits his touchdown potential. McConkey was a DNP on Wednesday with a bicep injury, but participated fully the rest of the week. He does not carry an injury designation going into Week 3.
Despite a potential shadow matchup against the Denver Broncos' shutdown corner Pat Surtain, McConkey's route-running and quarterback Justin Herbert's trust should create opportunities. RotoBaller projects him as WR14 this week and should be started in all formats despite the tough matchup.
Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said that rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten "has taken a huge jump from the spring" and also compared him to Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving, whom he coached last year.
Tuten is focusing on all the little details and is still a work in progress in his first NFL season, but Coen has liked what he's seen, and there's no denying that the 23-year-old is an intriguing hold in all fantasy leagues, especially after the Jags traded Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.
Bigsby was limited in practice this week, but he's off the final injury report and will play in Week 3 against the division-rival Houston Texans, where he should be viewed as an RB3/flex with upside behind Travis Etienne Jr. Tuten had eight carries for 42 yards and also caught two passes for 32 yards and his first career touchown in last week's loss to the Cincinatti Bengals with an elevated workload.
DJ Moore, WR, Bears
hicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore is off to a sluggish start in 2025. Since the arrival of quarterback Caleb Williams, Moore has averaged just 56 yards per game with six touchdowns across 19 games.
The chemistry between the two has yet to click, and Moore's role has clearly diminished with second-year receiver Rome Odunze emerging as the Bears' WR1. That said, Week 3 offers a get-right opportunity.
The Dallas Cowboys allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers in 2024 and just gave up a monster performance to Malik Nabers (167 yards, two TDs) in Week 2. While Moore's ceiling is capped by Odunze's rise, the matchup keeps him firmly in play as a high-end WR3 with upside this week.
