The past two draft classes were full of talented wide receivers. While this year’s draft class doesn’t have the level of top-tier prospects, there are plenty of talented wide receivers in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Most mock drafts have three first-round wide receivers: Jordan Addison from USC, Jaxon Smith-Njigba from Ohio State, and Quentin Johnston from TCU. However, Zay Flowers belongs in the first-round conversation.

The Boston College star receiver almost declared for the NFL Draft last year but decided to return to school for one more season. Returning for one final year was an excellent decision for Flowers.

What Did Zay Flowers Do In His College Career?

Over the first three years of his career, Flowers averaged 40.7 receptions for 659.7 receiving yards and 5.7 receiving touchdowns per season. Had he declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, the Boston College receiver would have likely been a mid-round pick.

However, Flowers had a massive senior year. The star receiver set career highs across the board with 78 receptions for 1,077 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. His 78 receptions were the third-most in the ACC last year. Furthermore, he had over 500 yards after the catch, the most in the conference.

After his four years at Boston College, Flowers ended his career with 3,056 receiving yards and 29 receiving touchdowns. Both rank in the top-10 all-time in the ACC.

Which Team Could Pick Zay Flowers In The 2023 NFL Draft?

While he isn’t considered one of the top three wide receivers in the 2023 NFL Draft class, Flowers has the chance to be the fourth wide receiver drafted and a first-round pick.

Several teams are picking in the second half of the first round that need wide receiver help. The Los Angeles Chargers (pick 21), Baltimore Ravens (pick 22), Minnesota Vikings (pick 23), New York Giants (pick 25), Dallas Cowboys (pick 26), Buffalo Bills (pick 27), and New Orleans Saints (pick 29) could all consider a wide receiver in the first round of the draft.

Of those seven potential landing spots, the Giants would be the best one for Flowers. Last year New York had the worst wide receiver unit in the NFL. Pairing the former Boston College star with Wan’Dale Robinson would give Daniel Jones to explosive weapons in the passing game.
