Which Draft Pick Do the Tennessee Titans Have in the 2023 NFL Draft?

Derrick Henry - Fantasy Football Rankings NFL Injury News, DFS Picks

Where are the Tennessee Titans picking in the 2023 Draft? Do the Titans have a top 10 pick? Read the 2023 NFL Draft outlook.

The New York Jets got out to a 7-3 start with wins two wins over the Indianapolis Colts and one win over the Houston Texans. That said, they looked to be locked in for an AFC South title and another trip to the postseason with Ryan Tannehill. However, Mike Vrabel's team lost the final seven games of the 2022 regular season, capped off by a Saturday night loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars to lose the division crown.

Tennessee's seven wins were its fewest since 2015 and with the team hiring new general manager Ran Carthon from the 49ers, a roster overhaul could be coming.

Tennessee will be selecting 11th overall, just a year removed from taking wide receiver Treylon Burks from Arkansas at pick No. 18 via the Philadelphia Eagles in the A.J. Brown trade.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

How Did The Tennessee Titans Perform in 2022?

The Titans got out to a 0-2 start before winning seven of the next eight, with the lone loss being an overtime contest against Kansas City with rookie Malik Willis at quarterback. The team looked to be a solid contender after a 27-17 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football in Week 11, but that would turn out to be their final victory of the season.

Ryan Tannehill went 6-6 in his 12 starts, but his ankle injury caused him to miss two games early in the season and the final three games of the season. Third-rounder Malik Willis completed just 50.8 percent of his passes in seven games played (three starts), passing for just 276 yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 1-2 record. Josh Dobbs lost both of his starts in Weeks 17 and 18.

Pro-Bowl running back Derrick Henry posted just 4.4 yards-per-carry, but he led the league with 349 rushing attempts and finished second in the league with 1,538 rushing yards and tied for second with 13 rushing touchdowns He posted career highs in receptions (33) and receiving yards (398). The offensive line was ravaged by injuries, so he was still largely effective, all things considered.

At wide receiver, rookie Treylon Burks missed four games with a toe injury and two games due to a concussion on a brutal hit as he secured a touchdown reception against the Eagles. He finished the year with 33 receptions for 444 yards, one receiving touchdown, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown. While it wasn't a spectacular season for a rookie wideout, it was a decent year considering Tennessee had one of the worst passing offenses all season. Veteran wideout Robert Woods led the team in receptions and yards, but there's a good chance he'll be released this offseason.

Lastly, the team was a boom-or-bust unit all season. While Tennessee was tied for the league lead in rushing yards per attempt (3.4), their secondary continued to be a glaring and crippling issue, allowing 274.8 passing yards per game (most).

What Needs Does Tennessee Face?

The Titans have fired offensive coordinator Todd Downing and will have big decisions to make this offseason with the futures of Tannehill and left tackle Taylor Lewan (torn ACL) on offense. Lewan is coming off of his second major knee injury in three years and hasn't been the elite tackle he once was early in his career when he got paid. There's a chance he won't return to the team next season.

Tannehill didn't play poorly considering the offensive line and wide receiver groups drastically struggled, but the team has an out on his contract, and he's struggled to elevate the team to Super Bowl contention. When the Titans elected to start Joshua Dobbs over Malik Willis, it felt like they might've already given up on the Liberty product. That said, quarterback, all positions on the offensive line, and wide receiver remain needed on offense, but Tannehill could be back in 2023.

On defense, Bud Dupree might also be a casualty of off-season cuts, as he's missed 14 games over the past two seasons, and has just seven total sacks since joining the team on a $16.5 million per year deal. The Titans also structured his contract to be able to release him this off-season. Expect edge rusher to be a priority ahead of the 2023 season.

Former first-round cornerback Caleb Farley has suffered two season-ending injuries in his two years as a pro and since the Titans' secondary has been one of the league's worst units in each of the last three seasons, cornerback has to be considered a need, too.

What Prospects Could Tennessee Target?

There's been speculation that Tennessee could be in the sweepstakes for the services of 45-year-old Tom Brady, but since it's too early to know how free agency will shake out, we have to consider Tennessee taking a quarterback at pick 11. Without trading up, the Titans likely won't be able to take Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, or Will Levis, so former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson would be the guy in that range. Richardson has all the raw talent you want in an NFL quarterback, but he likely won't be ready to play right away.

At tackle, Ohio State's Paris Johnson, Northwestern's Peter Skoronski, and Georgia's Broderick Jones are expected to be the top players at the position, so if any of them fall to No. 11, Tennessee could pull the trigger. Lastly, the top cornerback prospect early are Oregon's Christian Gonzalez, Georgia's Kelee Ringo, and Penn State's Joey Porter Jr.
