The Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl a year ago in Matthew Stafford’s first season with the team. Unfortunately, the 2022 season was a nightmare for the Rams.
They started the year with an embarrassing 31-10 loss on opening night to the Buffalo Bills. Los Angeles then won two straight games. However, the Rams lost eight of their next nine contests.
Los Angeles won two of the final five games, including the Week 14 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Baker Mayfield’s debut with the team.

What Draft Picks Do The Los Angeles Rams Own?
The Rams’ 5-12 record netted the team the sixth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, that pick belongs to the Detroit Lions as part of the Stafford trade. The silver lining is that Los Angeles will have the 37th overall pick in the draft.
Overall the Rams will have 10 picks in this year’s draft. They will also receive four compensatory picks after losing several critical free agents last offseason. Los Angeles will receive a fourth-round pick for Darious Williams, a fifth for Austin Corbett, a sixth for Sebastian Joseph-Day, and a seventh for Ogbonnia Okoronkwo.
Four compensatory picks is the limit for any team in one year. Otherwise, the team might have had more picks.
Who Could The Los Angeles Rams Target In The 2022 NFL Draft?
The Rams won’t make a pick until the second night of the draft. However, expect them to target an offensive lineman with their early second-round pick.
Los Angeles surrendered 59 sacks in 2022, the third-most in the NFL. By comparison, the Rams gave up only 31 sacks in 2021, the sixth-fewest in the league.
Last year the team had to replace Andrew Whitworth after the veteran offensive tackle retired following the Super Bowl victory. Joseph Noteboom took over at left tackle this year but struggled. He gave up a quarterback pressure on over 10% of his pass block snaps.
One player they could draft in the second round is Anton Harrison. The Oklahoma offensive tackle was one of the best in college football last year.
If the Rams draft Harrison, he can start at left tackle as a rookie. The team could move Noteboom to left guard to replace David Edwards, a free agent in March.
