When is Jordan Lawlar getting called up? Will Lawlar get promoted in May 2025? Read about this top fantasy baseball prospect outlook heading into Week 7.
Arizona Diamondbacks top prospect Jordan Lawlar has put up strong numbers in his minor league career. He has a career slash line of .300/.395/.512 with 44 home runs, 63 doubles, 181 RBI, and 95 stolen bases across 267 minor league games at rookie ball, Single-A, High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A.
Most importantly, Lawlar has been raking down in Triple-A to begin the 2025 season. MLB Pipeline's No. 4 overall prospect has a .336 batting average to go with six home runs, 31 RBI, and 13 stolen bases across 38 games for the Reno Aces this year.
So, when are the Diamondbacks going to call up Lawlar? Can we expect him to make his season debut in May? Let's dive in and find out.
Jordan Lawlar Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
It was only a matter of time until the Diamondbacks called up their top prospect. Lawlar has been raking down in Triple-A all season and showed that he was MLB-ready. The 22-year-old was slashing .336/.413/.579 in his first 37 games this season while logging a hit in 17 of his past 20 contests. His strong start led to his promotion.

Arizona officially called him up ahead of Monday's series opener against the San Francisco Giants. However, this is not the first time Lawlar has been called up in his career. He was first promoted later in the 2023 season to help the Diamondbacks chase a World Series title. The results, though, weren't there his first time around in the majors.
He had just four hits in 31 at-bats in the regular season to go with one stolen base, two walks, and 11 strikeouts. Both Lawlar and the Diamondbacks are hoping things will be different in his second stint with the team. He is set to make his season debut on Tuesday against the Giants, hitting seventh and starting at shortstop.
Jordan Lawlar Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
There's no doubt that Lawler should be added in most leagues in Week 7. He is a top-4 prospect in baseball and has the potential to carry solid numbers in the home run and stolen base departments. In his last full minor league season in 2023, the Texas native hit 20 home runs and stole 36 bases in 105 games at Double-A and Triple-A.

Nevertheless, expectations should be tempered a little bit for Lawlar. The Diamondbacks only plan to play him four to five times a week right now, meaning he will likely sit out one to two games every week. Missing those one to two games every week could hurt his fantasy value in weekly formats. Still, he's worth an add in most cases.
The 22-year-old should see time at second base, shortstop, and third base and could eventually play his way into an everyday role in this Arizona lineup. Therefore, fantasy managers should be picking him up ahead of his season debut on Tuesday. Given the way Lawlar hit the ball in the minors this year, he has the chance to immediately make an impact in 2025.
