Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered an ankle injury against the Ravens on Sunday and was in a walking boot after the game. However, that would just be the beginning of the issues for Watson coming out of that game.
On Wednesday, news came out that it wasn't just the ankle. In fact, the ankle didn't seem to be an issue at all. Instead, Watson suffered a severe injury to his shoulder and has landed on Injured Reserve
When is Watson coming back to action? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

Deshaun Watson Injury Update for Fantasy Football
During the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson fractured the right glenoid in his shoulder. He will require surgery to fix the issue and will not play again in 2023.
Watson finishes an injury-plagued 2023 season with 1,115 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions. The numbers are similar to his six games in 2022, when he had 1,102 yards with seven touchdowns and five picks. The biggest improvement this year was in completion percentage, which rose from 58.2% to 61.4%.
Watson is expected to fully recover from the injury and should be the Browns starting quarterback in 2024.
Deshaun Watson Fantasy Football Outlook
Watson's two-year sample in Cleveland is just 12 games long, but it shows a quarterback who just isn't the same player he was in Houston, when he led the NFL in passing yards and yards per attempt in 2020.
Watson should be viewed as a QB2 option in dynasty leagues at this point. There are just too many other quarterbacks with long-term upside for Watson to make a list of the top 12 dynasty QBs.
As for this season, Cleveland is expected to start rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson this week. In his one start, he was 19-for-36 for 121 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. He also added 24 rushing yards. He should not be on the fantasy radar in one-QB leagues.
