Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks - Fantasy Football Outlook

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has been a solid quarterback streaming option in 2024. He should deliver solid value again in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, but you should temper expectations with DK Metcalf (knee), who is unlikely to play in this game.

The Bills are also an absolute run-funnel. Teams have been able to run on them with ease which suggests this could be a big Kenneth Walker III (illness) day. Even so, they are relatively unproven as a pass defense. They have not faced a passing attack as voluminous and high-powered as the Seahawks in 2024.

Still, any quarterback without a stud such as Metcalf in the lineup would experience a downgrade against most opponents. Smith is still a quality option this week, but consider making other arrangements if your roster can handle it.

Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears - Fantasy Football Outlook

This Sunday, Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is a strong fantasy option as he takes on the Washington Commanders. The former USC Trojans standout returns to his hometown of Washington D.C. with the Bears following a bye week. This will be Williams' first NFL game in the city, where he attended Gonzaga College High School before playing at Oklahoma and USC.

He'll also be going up against his former offensive coach, Kliff Kingsbury, who now runs the offense for Washington. Although the matchup was anticipated to showcase the top two picks of the 2024 NFL draft, Jayden Daniels' (ribs) availability is uncertain due to a rib injury suffered in Week 7.

While a showdown between the top picks would be exciting for NFL fans, Williams' matchup against the Commanders' defense will excite fantasy managers, even as they've improved recently. Although defensive-minded head coach Dan Quinn may have some tricks up his sleeve for the rookie, this matchup is too enticing to pass up for starting the Bears' signal caller.

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions - Fantasy Football Outlook

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff faces the Tennessee Titans in Week 8, a team that has allowed the third-fewest passing yards per game (166.7) this season but gave up 315 yards to Josh Allen and the Bills last week.

Goff has been a productive fantasy quarterback, ranking third in passing yards per game, first in yards per attempt, and second in passer rating. His recent performances have been strong, completing 80% of his passes for 595 yards and five touchdowns over the last two weeks. Despite Tennessee's impressive pass defense, Goff has proven capable of exploiting defenses at home, making him a viable option this week.

However, fantasy managers should keep expectations in check, as the Titans rank among the best in yards per attempt and fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Goff is a borderline QB1, as he's ranked 12 among all quarterbacks in the latest RotoBaller rankings for Week 8.
