Week 17 NFL Weather Report - Fantasy Football Lineup Impacts

AJ Brown - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

Kipp's Week 17 NFL weather report for fantasy football (2025). He looks at NFL game weather forecasts to help make key fantasy football start/sit decisions.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to our Week 17 fantasy football weather report for the 2025 NFL season! The first few months of the season brought us very few weather concerns, but now that the winter months of December and January have arrived, it is time to ramp up this session again. I will be here every week through the Super Bowl to discuss the weather forecasts for every NFL game, where appropriate. This is an article that is near and dear to my heart, as I am always looking for a weather edge where I can find one.

We will rely on the most accurate and up-to-date weather forecasts for each stadium from AccuWeather, a source that provides comprehensive weather maps. Factors such as temperature, precipitation, wind speed/direction, and visibility can play a crucial role in shaping game outcomes and statistics.

Our goal with this article is to help you make informed decisions for your fantasy teams and other betting activities, enabling you to capitalize on opportunities or navigate the challenges posed by weather dynamics. Additionally, I hope to be able to update the article at least once each weekend before games kick off. Here is your comprehensive fantasy football weather report for Week 17 of the 2025 season.

Editor's Note: The FFPC Playoff Challenge #2 is back with a massive $100,000 grand prize and $203,250 total prize pool, paying down to 100th place. Here's the deal: no salary cap, no draft, no pickups, no subs. Choose 8 players, and as NFL teams get knocked out so will your players, so choose your team wisely. The entries will sell out quickly, and registrations will close on Saturday January 17th at 4:30 pm ET . Don't wait - get your team now and end your fantasy football season with a shot at $100,000! Dome Games (No Weather Impact)

Some games in Week 17 will benefit from being played in domed stadiums, where the weather won't affect the outcome. These indoor venues provide a consistent environment.

  • Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings (Thursday Afternoon Slate)
  • Houston Texans @ Los Angeles Chargers (Saturday Afternoon Slate)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts (Sunday Early Slate)
  • New York Giants @ Las Vegas Raiders (Sunday Afternoon Slate)
  • Los Angeles Rams @ Atlanta Falcons (Monday Night Slate)

Minimal Weather Impact

These outdoor games in Week 17 don't appear to have very many weather concerns.

Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Commanders (Thursday Early Slate)

We are kicking off the Christmas Day games in the nation's capital with the Cowboys traveling to take on the Commanders at Northwest Stadium. While there could be some mild precipitation in this one, not much is expected, and the weather otherwise should not be of much concern.

AccuWeather currently has temperatures projected to be in the mid-40s. Additionally, sustained winds are projected to be around five mph, with gusts around 10 mph.

Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs (Thursday Night Slate)

It is safe to say that the NFL did not expect the Chiefs to be eliminated from the playoffs already when they scheduled this game on Christmas night, but here we are. The weather should be pretty solid, at least.

AccuWeather currently has temperatures listed in the mid-40s under partly cloudy skies. Sustained winds are expected to be around eight mph, with gusts near 21 mph. Start your studs in this one.

Seattle Seahawks @ Carolina Panthers (Sunday Early Slate)

We will have solid weather when the Seahawks travel to Charlotte to take on the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. AccuWeather currently has temperatures listed in the upper 60s, under partly sunny skies. Winds will also be relatively mild with sustained winds at nine mph and gusts near 18 mph.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Miami Dolphins (Sunday Early Slate)

We have an interstate matchup when the Buccaneers travel to Miami Gardens to take on the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Thankfully, the weather will be of no concern in this one.

AccuWeather currently has temperatures listed in the lower 80s, under partly sunny skies. Winds will also be mild, with sustained winds listed at five mph and gusts listed at 10 mph. Start your studs here as well.

New Orleans Saints @ Tennessee Titans (Sunday Early Slate)

We have a lackluster matchup when the Saints travel to Nashville, TN, to take on the Titans at Nissan Stadium. The weather is also not worth much of a mention, as current temperatures are expected to be in the mid-60s under mostly cloudy skies.

Sustained winds are expected to be 12 mph, with gusts close to 20 mph. While the wind gusts could cause an issue if they hit just right on a kick, I would not recommend sitting any players due to them.

Chicago Bears @ San Francsico 49ers (Sunday Night Slate)

A huge matchup with NFC playoff implications will take place Sunday night at Levi's Stadium when the Bears travel west to take on the 49ers. Accuweather tells us that conditions for this game should be nice, with temperatures in the lower 40s under clear skies.

Additionally, sustained winds are expected to be just 1 mph, with similar gusts. Start your studs comfortably.

Moderate Weather Impact

Let's take a look at some games where the weather is not quite severe, but could still have a moderate impact on the game. The forecasts provide some information on what types of skill players might be worth being more cautious with.

Baltimore Ravens @ Green Bay Packers (Saturday Night Slate)

It should come as no surprise that we have some weather concerns on Saturday night when the Ravens travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers.

As expected, it will be extremely cold, with temperatures expected to be in the teens. Additionally, there could be some rain and ice mix falling. Wind gusts are also expected to be near 25 mph, so we are just looking nasty all the way around in this one.

It goes without saying to stream kickers elsewhere, but it may also be a good idea to sit deep threats like Romeo Doubs. This also is not great weather for Lamar Jackson and Jordan Love, plus both of these defenses are rather strong.

Arizona Cardinals @ Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday Early Slate)

The Cardinals will travel east to take on the Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, and there is a bit of weather to contend with. While temperatures will be mild, in the lower 50s, and skies will be partly sunny, wind gusts are expected to push close to 30 mph.

This is a concern for the kicking game, and streamers should come from elsewhere. Additionally, this could cause some issues with deeper throws.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns (Sunday Early Slate)

We have an AFC North rivalry on tap when the Steelers travel 90 miles west to take on the Browns this Sunday. The weather will be similar to that of Cincinnati; however, we are looking at wind gusts north of 40 mph.

These are massive winds, and kickers should not be streamed in this game. Additionally, deep-threat receivers in the passing game, like Jerry Jeudy, should also take a breather if these winds hold up.

New England Patriots @ New York Jets (Sunday Early Slate)

We have an AFC East matchup on Sunday when the Patriots travel to take on the Jets in East Rutherford, NJ, at MetLife Stadium. AccuWeather currently has temperatures listed in the mid-40s, and rain is also expected.

While we do have rain expected, it is worth noting that sustained winds are only projected to be six mph, with gusts just north of 15 mph. I do not think the rain will pose as much of a concern, given the wind speeds, but it is worth noting. I would recommend streaming kickers outside of this game in abundance of caution, but no other concerns remain here.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Buffalo Bills (Sunday Afternoon Slate)

The game of the week will take place in Orchard Park, NY, when the Eagles travel to take on the Bills at Highmark Stadium. Unfortunately, as is often the case at Bills home games late in the season, we have some weather to contend with.

AccuWeather currently has temperatures listed in the 40s with rain. Additionally, wind could be an issue, as current sustained winds are projected to be around 10 mph with gusts pushing close to 22 mph.

This looks like a nasty game, and I would certainly avoid kickers and may even look for someone other than A.J. Brown if I had the depth.

Severe Weather Impact

There are currently no games scheduled in Week 17 with severe weather impacts or concerns.
