Quarterback Value Picks for Week 11

QB: Ryan Mallet ($6,000): After struggling though much of season, the Texans finally have moved on from Ryan Fitzpatrick to the newly acquired Mallet. The former Arkansas stand out has yet to show any true NFL ability during a game, but we do know he has a cannon for an arm and receivers to help him use that.

The Browns have perhaps the best corner in the league in Joe Haden, however opponents have taken advantage of the player across from him for big games such as the one Mike Evans put up two weeks ago. He is a certainly a bit of an unknown but with receiving options like DeAndre Hopkins, Andre Johnson and Arian Foster it would not be surprising for Mallet to go over 200 yards and 2 scores.

QB: Shaun Hill ($5,000): In a bit of a surprise move, the Rams have gone back to their opening day starter in Hill. The journeyman quarterback went 8/13 before getting hurt in the season opener against the Vikings, and now will get the start against Denver.

The Rams are likely to get destroyed in this game which means there should be a ton of garbage time available to rack up fantasy points. For near minimum salary you do not find many starting quarterbacks, if he can even put up 200 yards and 1 touchdown he will reach value.

Running Back Value Picks for Week 11

RB: Jerick McKinnon ($5,500): For at least one more week McKinnon will be the feature back for the Vikings. Anyone who has owned him has been frustrated with Matt Asiata vulturing touchdowns, but the good news there is that Asiata has never scored a touchdown away from home.

McKinnon has double figure carries in all but one of his last six games along with a reception in every game outside of the opener this season. It is also worth noting that Minnesota takes on a Chicago defense that has given up over 100 points in their last two games so expect McKinnon to find the end zone for the first time in his career in this one.

RB: Trent Richardson ($5,700): In what should be one of the best games of the season, the Colts host the Patriots on Sunday night. New England is known as a defense that puts all of its efforts into stopping what the opponent does best, and for Indy that is throwing to T.Y. Hilton. That should help open up holes for Richardson underneath.

Despite being labeled a bust, he actually has had a solid fantasy season. He has had over 14 carries in six different games this year and also has reeled in 4+ receptions in three different games. Look for the big bruising back to find the end zone at least once which will get close to paying off his low price tag.

Wide Receiver Value Picks for Week 11

WR: Jordan Matthews ($5,500): Clearly Matthews and Mark Sanchez have a nice rhythm. After catching a touchdown pass from Sanchez in Houston, Matthews lit up the Panthers for 7 receptions, 138 yards and 2 scores on Monday night. The former Vanderbilt star has 39 receptions on the year and is has surpassed Riley Cooper to secure his spot as the number two receiver. In a game with Green Bay that should be high scoring, Matthews should continue to stay hot.

WR: Davante Adams ($5,200): In the same game as Matthews, Adams is likely to go under that radar due to his 1 catch and 10 yard dud against Chicago. However, if you look at his game log that is about par for the course as Adams has gone 1-6-1-7-1 for receptions over the past five weeks. He is still firmly the team’s third receiver and should have a nice bounce back this week.

WR: Keenan Allen ($6,400): Allen certainly hasn’t lived up to his preseason hype, however he still has 47 receptions and 474 yards on the season. He has 19 receptions over the last three games including his first touchdown of the year two weeks ago. This week the Chargers get the winless Raiders.  They are on a three game losing streak of their own, so expect Rivers to be throwing it early and often.

Tight End Value Pick for Week 11

TE: Larry Donnell ($5,200): Since his three touchdown game a few weeks ago, Donnell has dropped off of fantasy radar a bit. After two games combining for just 1 reception, he has rebounded to pull in 15 receptions over the past three weeks while continuing to be a big part of the Giants red zone package. New York takes on a 49ers team that was roasted by Jimmy Graham for two scores, so it’s not out of the question Donnell finds similar success with no Patrick Willis.

Defense Value Pick for Week 11

DEF: New York Giants ($4,600): There is a lot to like about the Giants defense this week. San Francisco has given up a league high 31 sacks this year, they are at home, and they are near minimum salary. It could also be an advantage playing a west coast team at noon Eastern Time which could see San Francisco come in a bit sluggish after a big win. Defense is always a toss-up so why not gamble with a home team that is almost assured to get a few sacks.
