Jhony Brito less than 4.5 strikeouts
Brito has gotten off to a solid start as he has allowed just one earned run over his first 10 innings pitched while striking out eight batters. This number just seems a bit much for a starter that is likely to just go five innings and will be facing a Twins team that is outside the top 10 in terms of strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. In the minors, Brito managed to strike out just 91 batters over 112 2/3 innings pitched in 2022.
Nick Martinez less than 5.5 strikeouts
Martinez has not struck out six batters in either of his first two starts to begin 2023 and also posted just an 8.04 K/9 in 2022. He does not have an easy matchup in this one against the Brewers, either. To begin 2023, Milwaukee is posting a 114 wRC+ mark vs. right-handed pitching, a 12.0% walk rate, and striking out at a clip of just 23.8%. Martinez has been known to walk batters as he has posted a 5.4 BB/9 thus far in 2023, so he could be in quite a bit of trouble today.
Nolan Arenado more than 1.5 total bases
Arenado has been rolling as he now has two or more bases in three of his previous five games and is posting a .881 OPS over the previous seven days. He has a solid matchup against Vince Velasquez as well. Velasquez has allowed 24 home runs and 27 doubles to right-handed hitters since 2021.
Adley Rutschman more than 7.5 fantasy score
Rutschman has posted a 1.257 OPS over the previous seven days while also eclipsing this fantasy score in three of his previous four games. He also hits right-handed pitching well, as noted by his .514 SLG and 14 home runs across his first 389 plate appearances. He will be up against Adam Oller, who has allowed nine home runs and nine doubles across facing just 153 left-handed batters in his career.
