Should I drop Tyrone Tracy Jr. for fantasy football Week 7? Is Tyrone Tracy Jr. a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. hasn't had a great start to his 2025 season. It appears that his days as the team's RB1 are over, though they lasted less than one full season.
New York drafted running back Cam Skattebo with a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and through six games, it's been Skattebo who's been the clear leading scorer for Big Blue's backfield.
Yet rostering backup running backs can often be worth it. Injuries to a team's starting running backs can give you RB1s for some stretch of time, and handcuffs can be valuable. So should you drop Tracy?

Should I Drop Tyrone Tracy Jr. in Fantasy Football?
If you don't need him as a handcuff, and don't have space on your bench to stash RB2s in case of injuries to team's starting backs, it's probably safe to drop him. It doesn't look like he'll have a significant role in the backfield moving forward.
In Week 6, he was only given four carries, with which he gained six yards. Skattebo, meanwhile, had 19 carries for 98 yards, scored three rushing touchdowns, and caught two passes for 12 yards. He had the clear goal line role, passing down role, and early down role.

I'll admit I wasn't super high on him in the pre-draft process, but I should've known how awesome he would be by watching the above video of him bashing his head into a brick wall before a game. Skattebo runs with zero regard for his own safety -- his near-animalistic enthusiasm makes him a valuable fantasy asset when combined with his strength, contact balance, and elusiveness.
Who Should I Pick Up for Fantasy Football?
Running back pickings are extremely slim at this time of year, but it at least makes sense to grab a backup RB that has more immediate upside, at least at first impression. Someone like New Orleans Saints RB Kendre Miller would make sense. He's been a fantastic tackle-breaker this year.

He struggled in Week 6, but it was because he faced the New England Patriots run defense, which is the best in the league, according to my analysis. He should have better days moving forward. He's highly elusive and powerful this season -- he ranks at the top of the league in missed tackles forced per carry.
Atlanta Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier is a good add too. He had an impressive touchdown run last week, and has three scores on the season. He provides more upside in case of a desperation start, and if the starter ahead of him gets injured, likely more upside than Tracy would provide if Skattebo went down.
