Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Spencer Strider more than 10 strikeouts
This number seems a bit high, but we all know what Strider is capable of as he has struck out 10 or more in five of his previous six outings. He will be up against the Angels, who have posted the third-highest K rate vs. right-handers over the previous three weeks with a rate of 27.5%. Just last night, Charlie Morton managed to mow down eight Angels, so 11 or more is clearly within range for Strider.
Justin Steele more than 5.5 strikeouts
Steele has a great matchup against the Reds tonight as they are posting the eighth-highest K rate vs. Southpaws over the previous three weeks with a rate of 25.3% while also posting a lackluster 68 wRC+ mark. Meanwhile, Steele has struck out at least six batters in four of his previous six starts.
Zac Gallen more than 6.0 strikeouts
Full disclosure: I certainly would prefer Gallen at home here, but the matchup against the Giants is still a very solid one in a pitcher's park. Over the previous three weeks, the Giants have posted the seventh-highest K rate vs. right-handers with a rate of 27.2% while also posting a sub-100 wRC+ mark. Gallen has struck out seven or more batters in 10 total starts this season, including an eight-strikeout performance against the Cardinals in his most recent outing.
Patrick Sandoval more than 4.5 strikeouts
This is a pretty low number for Sandoval with the reason likely being that he is up against a tough Braves offense. that being said, the Braves have posted the 10th-highest K rate vs. Southpaws over the previous three weeks with a rate of 24.5%. Although this has only been a total of 49 plate appearances for the Braves, this could work in Sandoval's favor as the lack of recency against a Southpaw may be a good thing. Sandoval has also struck out at least five batters in five of his previous seven starts.
