6 days agoThe 43-year-old future Hall of Famer Glover Teixeira was unable to make magic happen again on Saturday when he suffered a decision defeat at the hands of new champion Jamahal Hill. In 25 minutes of action, Teixeira was unable to get his ground game going, landing only two of his 17 takedown tries. He also only landed 75 significant strikes compared to that of Hill's 232. Jamahal Hill Earns UFC Gold At UFC 283
6 days agoIt took five rounds, but Jamahal Hill walked out of the Octagon in the main event of UFC 283 on Saturday as the new light-heavyweight champion after a dominant performance. In 25 minutes of action, Hill tallied 232 significant strikes compared to that of Glover Teixeira's 75. Another big part of Hill's victory was stuffing 15 of Teixeira's 17 takedown tries on the night. A strong performance sits Hill atop the light-heavyweight division. 6 days agoIt was not the way Deiveson Figueiredo wanted his fourth bout against Brandon Moreno to go, and he was unable to capture the flyweight championship on Saturday while suffering a third-round TKO (doctor stoppage) loss in the co-main event at UFC 283 on his home turf of Brazil. In 15 minutes of action, Figueiredo only tallied 19 significant strikes compared to that of Moreno's 48. Brandon Moreno Becomes Undisputed Champion
6 days agoWith two finishes against a common foe, Brandon Moreno defended the interim flyweight title to become the undisputed champion on Saturday by defeating Deiveson Figueiredo via third-round TKO (doctor stoppage). In 15 minutes of action, Moreno out-hustled and out-struck Figueiredo by landing 48 significant strikes compared to that of Fig's 19. Due to a swollen eye sustained from strikes, a doctor stopped the contest between rounds and awarded Moreno the victory. Moreno's four-fight record against Figueiredo now stands at 2-1-1.Source: ESPN

6 days agoUnable to build on his UFC welterweight all-time wins lead, Neil Magny suffered defeat at the hands of Gilbert Burns via first-round submission on Saturday. At the 4:15 mark of the first round, Burns locked in an arm triangle to earn the victory. There's wasn't much in the way of striking in this contest, with a grand total of nine significant strikes landed combined. Though he may not be able to earn victories against the absolute top of the division, Magny still has gas left in the tank to earn victories on fight night.Source: ESPN
Gilbert Burns Locks In Submission For Big Victory
6 days agoThere wasn't much striking in Saturday's contest, as Gilbert Burns locked up an arm triangle for a first-round submission win over Neil Magny on the main card of UFC 283. In 4:15 of action, only nine significant strikes combined were landed. Just over two minutes of the fight was spent with Burns in dominant control. After a body-lock takedown, Burns showed his top-tier jiu-jitsu work and earned the submission. On Saturday, Craig fell victim to the dangerous striking of Johnny Walker, his first knockout/TKO loss since 2019. Craig only landed three significant strikes in 2:16 of action. Craig caught a kick by Walker and was walking him to the cage for a takedown, but Walker launched a big right hand that was the beginning of the end for Craig.
