Zach Neto Close To Starting Rehab Assignment
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels manager Phil Nevin said on Friday that rookie shortstop Zach Neto (back) has experienced "no setbacks and no pain" as he continues to rehab lower-back inflammation. Neto has taken part in all on-field activities during warmups except for hitting, which he has been doing in an indoor cage. Nevin said Neto is expected to go on a minor-league rehab assignment sometime next week. The 22-year-old was put on the injured list on Aug. 4 after dealing with back inflammation since late July. Neto should return to regular duties at the 6 when he's healthy enough to be activated, although the Angels did just call up prospect Kyren Paris and he made his big-league debut on Friday night in the loss to the Oakland Athletics.
