Zach Eflin Beats The Cubs At Wrigley
7 years agoAfter getting swept in San Francisco by the Giants, the Philadelphia Phillies bounced back to kick off another pivotal series at Wrigley Field. Taking on the Cubs on Tuesday night, the club sent Zach Eflin to the mound, who’d closed out May with three consecutive poor starts. On Tuesday, however, the right-hander arguably had his best start of the season, going a season-long 7 2/3 innings. During the outing, he allowed just one run on eight hits, walking one and striking out two during the 105-pitch performance. The victory improved his record to 2-2 on the season, with a 3.74 ERA to his name.
