Yuli Gurriel White-Hot On Offense
6 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel went 2-for-5 with one double, one RBI and two runs scored as the Astros blew out the Rangers 15-5 on Sunday. After a slow start in the month of April where Gurriel hit only .242, Gurriel has six multi-hit games over his last eight games played. Gurriel is 15-for-33 (.454) during that span with one triple, two doubles and two home runs to raise his batting average up to .285 on the season. Gurriel is a solid offensive player who enjoys the benefit of hitting in a high-powered offense. His name may not be as high-profiled as the Reds Joey Votto, but there is a scenario that Gurriel could end up having a better offensive season and 50-60 extra-base hits is easily on the table. The veteran's value is best utilized in deeper leagues in fantasy right now.
