Yuli Gurriel Goes Yard On Saturday
4 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel hit his first home run of the season as the Astros took care of the Mariners 7-2 on Saturday. It was the first hit of the season for the 36-year-old, who is coming off a monster 2019 season. Gurriel was unstoppable the final of half of last season, slashing .326/.382/.623 with 17 home runs, 19 doubles and 54 runs batted in over his final 62 games. Few were hotter in the game than the veteran first baseman, who hit .408 with a 1.284 OPS during a 24-game stretch in August that saw him hit 12 home runs and drive in 31 runs during that span. Few expect that type of production again this season but Gurriel will continue to have excellent value in most fantasy formats moving forward.
