New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (quadriceps) is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays. It’s unclear at this point if Cespedes is simply getting a day of rest for his injured quad, or if this means the Mets are finally placing him on the disabled list. A stint on the shelf could do Cespedes a world of good, but the Amazins can’t afford to go that long without his bat in the lineup right now. He’s only slashing .255/.316/.474 on the year, but that comes with a very solid eight home runs and 28 RBI. Stay tuned for updates on his status, but be prepared to be without him for at least 10 days.--John Smith
