Yoelqui Cespedes, Norge Vera Agree With White Sox
4 years agoFree-agent outfielder Yoelqui Cespedes, MLB.com's top-ranked international prospect, has agreed to a $2.05 million deal with the Chicago White Sox on Friday, according to industry sources. Chicago also agreed with right-hander Norge Vera of Cuba, who is ranked No. 15 on the list, for $1.5 million. Cespedes is 23 years old and is considered a five-tool prospect with above-average tools across the board. He's the younger half-brother of free-agent outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. Vera impressed scouts with a fastball in the 94-97 mph range. He has a chance to be a top-of-the-rotation starter because of a projectable body with great arm action and demeanor on the mound.
