6/26:Tampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos hit two home runs Monday versus the Nationals. Ramos was excited to play against his old team and admits that he pressed a little too much the first time the two teams met. There is also speculation that Ramos and Washington could be a good fit in the mid-season trade market. Washington could use some offensive help at the position and the Rays likely would like to get something for Ramos before he becomes a free agent. Ramos is among the league leaders for hits as a catcher in 2018. Ramos now has 11 home runs and 39 RBI to go with a fantasy-friendly .293 batting average. The batting average and stats are much more appealing given the standards for catchers to be useful in fantasy. His 2015 season was a success, as he hit 22 HRs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher.--Jamie Mellor - RotoBaller
