Willy Adames Eliminates Toe Tap
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Willy Adames, who will enter 2019 as the starting shortstop, said that he eliminated the toe tap in his swing and will only have a leg kick this year. If he struggles with the adjustment early on, he'll go back to his toe tap. Adames finished his rookie season with a .278/.348/.406 slash line, 10 home runs, 34 RBI and six stolen bases in his first 85 games for the Rays. The 23-year-old has a modest mix of power and speed and should only get better, making him an intriguing late-round middle infield flier in deep mixed leagues.
