1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras (hip) remains out of the starting lineup as the team takes on the visiting Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. Andrew Knizner will get another start behind the dish and will bat seventh against A's right-hander Paul Blackburn. Contreras is dealing with a tight right hip this week and will miss his second straight game. As long as the 31-year-old backstop is able to return at some point this weekend for a four-game set against the New York Mets, he should avoid a trip to the 10-day injured list. Contreras got off to a rough start early in his first year in St. Louis, but he's been much better in the second half, hitting .355 (22-for-62) with three homers, four doubles, 13 RBI, a stolen base and seven runs scored in 21 games (19 starts) since the All-Star break.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
