White Sox Reach Extension With Luis Robert
5 years agoThe Chicago White Sox signed center field prospect Luis Robert to a six-year, $50 million deal on Thursday, according to sources. The deal includes two club options. With no service-time manipulation necessary, Robert will begin the 2020 season on Chicago's roster. Robert is a five-tool star who was named Minor League Player of the Year in 2019 after dominating all three levels on the farm. Chicago has had quite the offseason, also adding Yasmani Grandal, Dallas Keuchel, Gio Gonzalez and Edwin Encarnacion. Robert, 22, is the club's top prospect and No. 3 in baseball, per MLB Pipeline. He hit .328/.376/.624 with 32 homers, 92 RBI and 36 steals in 122 games in the minors last year. Robert has the potential to be the real deal, making him extremely attractive in all fantasy leagues in 2020 in what should be a much-improved White Sox lineup.
