The Chicago White Sox could officially name Tony La Russa as their new manager as early as Thursday. La Russa got his start in the big leagues in 1979 with the White Sox, and rumors have been swirling for more than a week that he'd land there. The 76-year-old won three straight American League pennants from 1988-90 with the A's, winning the World Series in 1989. He also took the Cardinals to two World Series titles in 2006 and 2011. General manager Rick Hahn and executive vice president Kenny Williams both spoke with La Russa last week. Don't be surprised if the official word comes down sometime on Thursday.--Keith HernandezRead More News
