White Sox Acquire Lance Lynn From Rangers
4 years agoThe Chicago White Sox acquired starting pitcher Lance Lynn from the Texas Rangers early Tuesday morning in exchange for 25-year-old right-hander Dane Dunning and left-handed pitching prospect Avery Weems, according to sources. The 33-year-old right-hander led the majors in innings in 2020 and was the most prized pitcher on the trade market this winter. Lynn will accompany Lucas Giolito and former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel at the top of Chicago's starting rotation in 2021. Lynn has one year and $8 million remaining on his contract. Dunning made his debut last year after recovering from Tommy John surgery. Lynn was the favorite to finish second in the American League Cy Young voting until a final poor start ruined his chances. He struck out 89 and walked 25 while holding hitters to a .204 average in 84 innings, but he also allowed 13 home runs.
