Ottawa Senators forward Vladislav Namestnikov was acquired from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Nick Ebert and a 2021 fourth-round draft pick on Monday. The 26-year-old had been relegated to a bottom-six role in New York to start the season and had registered no points, a minus-two rating, two penalty minutes and three shots through his first two games. Originally acquired in a blockbuster trade from Tampa Bay involving defenseman Ryan McDonaugh and forward J.T. Miller back in February of 2018, Namestnikov failed to establish himself as a true top-six forward in his 99 games in the Big Apple - posting just 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) to go along with a minus-14 rating and 150 shots. Set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, the Russian forward is expected to get an opportunity to produce on a youthful Senators team in 2019-2020. He'll make his Senators debut on Thursday versus the St. Louis Blues.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
