Jurickson Profar Starting Rehab Assignment on Tuesday
Jurickson Profar is starting a minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday night with Triple-A Gwinnett, according to The Athletic's David O'Brien. Profar is eligible to return from his 80-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs on July 2. The 32-year-old veteran was a big free-agent acquisition by Atlanta in the offseason after a career year in 2024 with the San Diego Padres, but he suited up for only four games with his new team before being hit with an 80-game suspension. When he's eligible to return to Atlanta, Profar will almost certainly return to an everyday role in left field, which will push Alex Verdugo into more of a bench role for the Braves. Profar hit .280/.380/.459 with an .839 OPS, a career-high 24 home runs, 85 RBI and 10 steals last year in SD, which will likely end up being the best year of his career.
