Chase Elliott Ends Mexico City with A Great Finish of Third
Chase Elliott of Hendrick Motorsports put together a quality race on Sunday's Viva Mexico 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez as he finished in the third position. Elliott began the race from 12th and was quiet during the first stage, making a few moves without incident. Elliott ended the first stage in the ninth position and gained two stage points. In the second stage, Elliott ran between the top 10 and 15 for most of the stage, only causing contact at times, like with Ty Dillon on lap 40. Elliott ended up heading to pit road before the stage ended, intending to flip track position between the second and third stages, and ended up finishing stage two in 23rd as a result. Elliott gained all of the track position back between stages to go back into the top 10 by the beginning of the final stage. Despite further cautions dividing up the field's pit strategies and even sending him back further, Elliott continued to prevail against the majority in the late stages as he rallied up to third place by passing cars through the rest of the race. Elliott's third-place run ended up scoring the best finish of the 2025 season for him as well as his fourth top-5 result.
