Colorado Avalanche winger Valeri Nichushkin has undergone ankle surgery and isn't expected to play for around a month. He has already been on the shelf for four games and it looks like Nichushkin will miss at least 20 more games. This is a pity, as the Russian winger was in amazing form to start the season, bagging seven goals and five assists in seven games before dropping out of the lineup. Martin Kaut has started to ride with the second line in Nichushkin's absence, although his status for Thursday's matchup against Nashville is uncertain after Colorado reassigned him to the minors at the weekend. The 23-year-old collected his first two points of the campaign in the team's last game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
