Tyler Mahle Diagnosed With Elbow Impingement
2 years agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Tyler Mahle (elbow) met with Dr. Chris Camp on Thursday and didn't undergo any imaging. The team is calling Mahle's injury an impingement to the back of his elbow, and it's still up in the air if he'll make his next start. Mahle will take anti-inflammatory medication and see how he responds in the next 48 to 72 hours. The 28-year-old left his start early on Thursday against the Kansas City Royals, but it doesn't sound as if the injury is too serious. If he's able to make his start, fantasy managers should be very wary about using him in starting lineups. There's still a very real possibility that he'll go on the injured list, too. Mahle has a nice 3.16 ERA (4.29 FIP), 1.05 WHIP, five walks and 28 K's in 25 2/3 innings over his five starts so far in 2023.
