2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins and free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa are finalizing a six-year, $200 million deal on Tuesday, according to sources. The deal has a vesting option that can max out at $270 million and is pending a physical. This will be the third deal that Correa has agreed to this offseason, previously coming to terms with the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets before both teams backed out due to concerns about an ankle injury that Correa sustained in the minor leagues. However, the Twins are more familiar with the 28-year-old after he played for them in 2022. In the end, the Twins may have a bargain on their hands if Correa's body holds up beyond the next six seasons. Correa hit a strong .291/.366/.467 with 22 home runs last season in Minnesota. His likely return will afford Royce Lewis (knee) more time to heal from a torn ACL, and he'll eventually return to the outfield when he's healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
