St. Louis Blues defenseman Philip Broberg is in concussion protocol and is doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports. On Monday, Blues head coach Jim Montgomery said the team's medical staff is "very happy" with Broberg's progress. But he is poised to miss time after getting hurt during Saturday's loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Broberg, who inked a six-year, $48 million contract extension last week, has registered 15 points (two goals, 13 assists), 58 shots, and 71 blocks with a plus-one rating in 46 outings this season. Matthew Kessel is expected to take Broberg's place in the lineup on Tuesday.--Taavi Pailk
