Trevor Williams Yet To Report To Camp
10 months agoWashington Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams is the only healthy pitcher who has not reported to spring training yet, as he remains home in San Diego waiting for his wife to give birth to the couple's first child. Barring another addition to the roster, Williams is penciled in as the team's No. 5 starter and is expected to arrive at camp within the next few days. Based on what general manager Mike Rizzo said, the 31-year-old shouldn't face any competition for his rotation spot to open the 2024 season. He won't really be of much consideration in mixed fantasy leagues, though, after posting a 5.55 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 144 1/3 innings for the Nationals last season. When former first-rounder Cade Cavalli (elbow) makes his season debut at some point this summer, it could push Williams to a long-relief role.
