4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers impending free-agent left tackle Trent Williams, who is listed at No. 1 on NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal's top-101 free agents for 2021, hinted that returning to San Francisco would be his first choice. The 32-year-old is in a position to surpass David Bakhtiari's top contract for left tackles. Williams was traded to San Fran from Washington last year after he sat out in 2019 due to a dispute with the team over his health issues. Williams is one of the best blind-side blockers in the NFL, and the Niners would love to keep him around to protect the oft-injured Jimmy Garoppolo in 2021 and beyond. The 49ers also have a decent amount of projected salary cap space with which to get a deal done.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
