Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa was recently charged with suspicion of driving under the influence as a result of a traffic stop in February. La Russa was stopped in Phoenix on Feb. 24 and told an officer he had hit something and had a tire blown out. He was taken into custody after a field sobriety test. La Russa declined to submit to a breathalyzer or provide a sample of his blood or urine to test his blood-alcohol level. The case wasn't filed until Oct. 28, one day before he was hired by Chicago as their new manager. The White Sox said they were aware of the charges when they hired La Russa on Oct. 29. A high-ranking White Sox official said that La Russa is in no danger of losing his position as manager or receiving any discipline from the team.--Keith HernandezRead More News
