Todd Frazier Begins Rehab Assignment
7 years agoWe haven’t heard much news lately on the status of New York Mets third baseman Todd Frazier (hamstring), but here’s a good update: Frazier had a successful debut in his rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. He finished 1-for-3 with an RBI while also playing six innings at third base. After taking batting practice last week for the first time, Frazier progressed to running and is now evidently nearing a return. He was placed on the disabled list on May 8 due to a hamstring injury but made it clear he was playing through it for a while. For the year, he’s slashing .237/.357/.412 with five home runs across 140 plate appearances, but he was slumping (perhaps due to the injury) prior to hitting the shelf.
