Tim Anderson Sitting Out After Saturday's Brawl
1 year agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians after his brawl with Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez on Saturday evening. After Ramirez slid into second base in the seventh inning on Saturday, J-Ram and Anderson got into a boxing match that ended with Anderson on the dirt after taking a right hook to the jaw from Ramirez. Anderson went 1-for-3 with a double and a strikeout before being ejected from the contest. This is just the latest in an extremely disappointing season for the 30-year-old, who is hitting .244 (86-for-353) with one home run, 19 RBI, 11 steals and 38 runs scored in 353 at-bats. Expect an upcoming suspension for Anderson. Elvis Andrus is at the 6 and batting leadoff on Sunday against Guardians right-hander Xzavion Curry.
