The Detroit Tigers recalled second baseman/outfielder Willi Castro from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Castro will give the Tigers some extra infield insurance after shortstop Javier Baez (thumb) landed on the injured list on Saturday. The 24-year-old could see some at-bats alongside Harold Castro at the 6 in some sort of platoon situation until Baez is healthy enough to return to the starting role. Castro, a switch-hitter, hit .220/.273/.351 with nine home runs, 38 RBI, 56 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 450 plate appearances over 125 games for Detroit last year. As long as Baez is out, he'll have some appeal in AL-only leagues as middle infield depth.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
