Texans Optimistic That Brandin Cooks Will Play
4 years agoThere is a lot of optimism that Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks (quadriceps) will make his debut with the team on Thursday Night Football in Week 1 against the Chiefs, but it remains to be seen how effective he'll be if he's active. For a receiver that relies mostly on his speed to be successful, a lower-body injury for Cooks is even more concerning. If Cooks doesn't play, it'll be Will Fuller V, Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills in three-receiver sets, and the Texans believe that this new-look receiving corps without DeAndre Hopkins will be better for quarterback Deshaun Watson. Because of the injury in Week 1, Cooks is a shaky WR4/flex in his Houston debut against KC.
