Taylor Heinicke To Start Against Packers
2 years agoWashington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said that quarterback Taylor Heinicke will start in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers, with rookie Sam Howell serving as his backup. Carson Wentz (finger) needed surgery on a fractured ring finger on his right hand and will be out for the next four to six weeks, so Heinicke will now be in play as a low-end QB2 option for fantasy managers in superflex leagues for the next month or so. The 29-year-old played in 16 games (15 starts) for the Commanders last year and completed 65 percent of his 494 pass attempts for 3,419 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Heinicke had some impressive moments but also plenty of inconsistency. Fantasy managers should expect much of the same.
