To say that Aric Almirola and his #10 Stewart-Haas Racing team are struggling to start out the 2023 season would be an understatement. Through the first five races this year, Almirola has yet to post a finish better than 16th, and three of the five races have ended with him in 30th or worse. The struggles are continuing at Circuit of the Americas, too, because Almirola will start from dead last when the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix goes green on Sunday. Almirola went off track during his qualifying lap on Saturday, which is the main reason he will start so far back, but he also struggled in practice on Friday, ending up just 35th-fastest out of 39 cars. Almirola has not been very good at road course races during his Cup Series career, as he hasn't finished better than 14th at one since the 2019 season. You can expect that trend to continue this weekend at COTA unless something crazy happens.--Jordan McAbee
