Steelers Give Mitch Trubisky A Two-Year Extension
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Mitch Trubisky agreed to an undisclosed two-year contract extension on Thursday that also lowers his salary cap number for the 2023 season -- it was previously at $10 million. Trubisky began last season as the starter under center for the Steelers, but he finished the year as the backup to Kenny Pickett. In seven games in 2022, the 28-year-old Trubisky completed 65 percent of his passes for 1,252 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. Barring injury by Pickett in 2023, Trubisky will serve as Pittsburgh's backup signal-caller, giving him virtually no fantasy appeal. The former first-round pick by the Chicago Bears has not lived up to expectations in his NFL career.
