The Dallas Stars acquired defenseman Connor Carrick from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2019 on Monday. The conditional pick will become a sixth-round selection if Carrick dresses at least 50 games with the Stars. The 24-year-old had issues finding a regular spot in the Leafs' lineup over the past three seasons, having played in just 130 games. The Illinois native finished the 2017-2018 season with 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 47 games with the team. An offensive-minded defenseman, Carrick's fantasy relevance largely depends on if he can earn regular minutes for the Stars over the course of the 2018-2019 campaign.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
